National Mustard Day

Come honor the King of Condiments.

National Mustard Day is celebrated annually on the first Saturday in August. It is a fun-filled, sun-splashed day for the whole family.

Come for the music, games and other entertainment, stay for the hot dogs, brats, FREE mustard sampling, and more. The National Mustard Museum has been the official sponsor and host of this event since 1991.

Previous National Mustard Day fundraising efforts have benefitted local community organizations like the Sauk Trails Optimist Club — as well as the nonprofit National Mustard Museum.

A noteworthy highlight of past NMDs has to be without question the “World’s BIGGEST #MustardChallenge” in 2017 when we proudly partnered with the nonprofit research accelerator, No More Kids With Cancer and their social media campaign to bring awareness and donations to pediatric cancer research.

In 2010, our Mustard Day street festival was moved to the current home of the Museum in Downtown Middleton, Wisconsin. With more than 6,000 enthusiastic mustard lovers in attendance annually, this event has raised thousands of dollars for local charity. From the Restoring Hope Transplant House and the Friends of the Middleton Library and to the Middleton Cardinals Booster Club and LOV Dane, there have been many who have benefited from this glorious golden goose.

You can help make the mustard magic happen by becoming a sponsor of National Mustard Day. We have different levels of support from which to choose to help make National Mustard Day possible. Or, consider volunteering for the next NMD and help keep the mustard flowing!
