Can you feel the excitement? This Saturday, August 3, is National Mustard Day, and we are making final preparations for our tribute to the King of Condiments.
The grill is hot, the frozen mustard custard is cold, and the Confidential Condiment Counselors are all going through their last minute drills. Are you ready?
The festivities officially begin at 10:00 a.m. but you don’t want to miss the POUPON U Accordion Band warming up the French’s Music Stage with the Mustard Day Overture with the Curator at 9:30, followed by the Red Hot Horn Dawgs, Speed Trap, City Electric, and Chaser.
Music, games, food, and mustard – what more could you want?
It all happens on Hubbard Avenue in Middleton, in front of and inside the National Mustard Museum. Nearby parking can be tight but you can ride the Middleton Trolley from any of nine locations (learn more about parking). There is ample parking at all of the Trolley stops; we recommend Greenway Station (near the Hilton Garden Inn), on Greenway Boulevard (at the Fairfield Inn), the Residence Inn, and any of the other Trolley stop locations. For detailed trolley information, go to visitmiddleton.com/trolley.
Once again, our friends at Culver’s have ensured that National Mustard Day will be the ONLY place you can grab a cool, refreshing treat like no other: MUSTARD CUSTARD. Sounds crazy, but don’t judge until you try it.
Frozen mustard custard has been a National Mustard Day tradition for years and this year’s flavor truly does cut the you-know-what. Culver’s will be whipping up a batch of Vanilla Raspberry Swirl Mustard Custard and it will be available exclusively at the Mustard Museum in Downtown Middleton on Saturday, August 3.
That’s the theme of this year’s National Mustard Day celebration on Saturday, August 3. If you are artistically inclined and would like to submit a design for this year’s t-shirt, send it to the curator. The winning design will receive five t-shirts (your choice of sizes).
The design should be on the front only and be sure to include the Mustard Museum logo with “National Mustard Day 2019” prominently featured. (If you need a jpg of our logo, email the Curator.)
Sponsorships of Mustard Day are now available, with thank you gifts commensurate with your support, from $25 up to $5,000, and as most sponsorships go, named for various precious elements:
MD25 – $25 (Plywood level)
MD42 – $42 (Molybdenum level)
MD50 – $50 (Pretzelium level)
MD100 – $100 (Bronze level)
MD250 – $250 (Silver level)
MD500 – $500 (Gold level)
MD1000- – $1,000 (Platinum level)
MD2500 – $2,500 (Dijonium level)
MD5000 – $5,000 (Mustardium)
National Mustard Day is our biggest event of the year and proceeds fund the activities and related nonsense of the nonprofit National Mustard Museum.
Fathers Day is just around the corner – we’ll even call it the “hot corner” as “third base” is known to all you baseball enthusiasts. That is why we have put together a special Fathers Day baseball gift box. Our pal, Brewers legend Gorman Thomas, knows a thing about mustard and more than a few things about baseball. He led the American League in home runs twice (1979 and 1982) and remains one of the most beloved Milwaukee Brewers sluggers ever. He also happens to make a mustard sauce that won a gold medal last year at the World-Wide Mustard Competition.
This gift set is loaded with mustard and baseball love. There’s a giant jar of Stormin’ Sauce, a jar of Gorman’s Long Ball Mustard, a Fathers Day mustard, some Bertman Baseball Ball Park Mustard and a regulation American League baseball signed by Gorman. How do we know he signed it? Because he did it right here at the Mustard Museum as the Curator was watching (pictured).
It’s regularly $54.95 but in honor of all the baseball-loving dads, we’ve put it on sale for $44.95.
Unlike Gorman’s legendary power, supplies of this gift box are limited. Fathers Day 2019 Baseball Gift Box
