“Mustard is a condiment that is typically used to flavor hot dogs and sandwiches. This herb is not commonly used in the West for its medicinal properties.”
Now that sounds interesting, right? Of course, we here at the National Mustard Museum are aware of various ways mustard can be good for you, but when we run across something like this we’ll definitely share it with all of you.
The article is from the Lance Armstrong Foundation’s livestrong.com and is entitled “Mustard for Health: How to Speed Up Your Metabolism & Improve Digestion”. It gives you 3 “steps” for taking advantage of the potential health benefits, including a suggestion to sprinkle mustard seeds onto breads and pizzas, or adding it to pasta sauces, stews and soups to potentially help improve energy metabolism. Increase metabolism? Hmmmmm, maybe even drop a couple pounds with a more active metabolism… what’s next, “The Mustard Diet”? Well…
We’ll keep our eyes peeled, but in the meantime, you can also check out this other story, “Mustard and Fat Burning”, with a bit more info about why mustard can boost your metabolism.
