According to research by Slavko Komarnytsky of North Carolina State University, a plant steroid found in mustard could be the key to improving performance or physical performance, or just a way to avoid muscle loss from age or disease.
Some interesting research, for sure. Says Komarnytsky, “because some plants we eat contain these compounds, like mustards, in the future we may be able to breed or engineer these plants for higher brassinosteroid content, thus producing functional foods that can treat or prevent diseases and increase physical performance.”
Yet another way mustard is not only good tasting, but good for you as well. You can read the full article here.
If Brassinosteroids could be given intramuscularly, then perhaps Barry Bonds would be re-instated into the Major League of Baseball. Certainly food for thought.
